Luxury Car Insurance in UAE
High-value vehicles are underwritten more carefully than mainstream cars. Insurers look closely at the sum insured, the driver, where the vehicle is kept and which workshop will repair it.
Getting the sum insured right
On an expensive car, a small percentage error in the declared value is a large amount of money at claim stage. The value should reflect the realistic current market price of your exact specification, including factory options that materially affect it.
Agency repair matters more here
Owners of premium vehicles usually want the manufacturer's authorised workshop to carry out repairs. Whether that is available, and for how many years from first registration, is an insurer decision and must appear on the schedule to apply.
Driver criteria
- Minimum driver age and licence duration are often stricter on high-value vehicles.
- Named-driver restrictions may be applied.
- Claims history carries more weight than on a mainstream car.
What we will not tell you
We will not quote an indicative price for a luxury vehicle before an insurer has assessed it, and we will not claim that a particular insurer accepts a particular supercar. Send the details and we will come back with what is genuinely offered.
Documents usually required
- Emirates ID (front and back)
- UAE driving licence (front and back)
- Mulkiya / vehicle registration card, or the purchase invoice for a new car
- Previous policy or no-claim certificate, where available
- Passport and visa page, where the insurer requests it
Individual insurers may ask for additional documents depending on the vehicle and driver profile.
How the process works
- 1Send us the vehicle and driver details, or complete the online quotation form.
- 2We identify which insurers can consider that vehicle and driver profile.
- 3You receive the available options with cover terms, excess and exclusions set out plainly.
- 4You choose an option and the insurer issues the policy and certificate.
- 5The certificate is used for registration or renewal with your emirate's authority.
Frequently asked questions
Do luxury cars need comprehensive cover?
It is not a legal requirement — third party liability is the legal minimum — but few owners of a high-value vehicle choose to carry the replacement cost themselves.
Are there driver age restrictions?
Insurers commonly apply minimum age and licence-duration criteria on high-value vehicles, and these vary between insurers.
Is agency repair automatic on a premium car?
No. It is an insurer-specific benefit, usually time-limited from first registration, and it must be stated on your policy schedule.
Important: The information on this page is general guidance about motor insurance in the UAE and is not a policy document or a guarantee of cover. Cover, benefits, exclusions, excess amounts and pricing differ between insurers and depend on your vehicle, driver profile and the policy wording issued to you. Always read the policy schedule and terms issued by the insurer before purchasing.
