Sports Car Insurance in UAE
Performance cars are assessed on more than value. Power, repair cost, modification history and the driver's record all feed into whether an insurer will offer comprehensive cover and on what terms.
Track days are almost always excluded
Motor policies in the UAE typically exclude racing, speed testing, timed events and circuit driving. Using a car at a track day without a specific arrangement usually leaves you uninsured for that session — including damage to your own vehicle.
Modifications must be declared
Engine, exhaust, suspension, brake or bodywork changes alter the risk and often the value. An undeclared modification can affect a claim. Declare everything at quotation stage, including work carried out by a previous owner.
Repair cost, not just purchase price
Carbon panels, adaptive suspension and performance brakes are expensive to replace, so insurers price the cost of putting the car right rather than only what it sold for. Two cars of similar value can attract very different terms for this reason.
Driver profile
Age, licence duration and claims history weigh heavily on performance vehicles, and some insurers apply named-driver or minimum-age conditions.
Documents usually required
- Emirates ID (front and back)
- UAE driving licence (front and back)
- Mulkiya / vehicle registration card, or the purchase invoice for a new car
- Previous policy or no-claim certificate, where available
- Passport and visa page, where the insurer requests it
Individual insurers may ask for additional documents depending on the vehicle and driver profile.
How the process works
- 1Send us the vehicle and driver details, or complete the online quotation form.
- 2We identify which insurers can consider that vehicle and driver profile.
- 3You receive the available options with cover terms, excess and exclusions set out plainly.
- 4You choose an option and the insurer issues the policy and certificate.
- 5The certificate is used for registration or renewal with your emirate's authority.
Frequently asked questions
Am I covered on a track day?
Normally no. Racing, speed testing and circuit use are standard exclusions. Ask before the event rather than after.
Do I have to declare a modified exhaust?
Yes. Any modification that changes performance, value or appearance should be declared when the quotation is requested.
Can a young driver insure a sports car?
Some insurers apply minimum age and licence-duration criteria on performance vehicles. Availability differs, so it is worth checking several.
Important: The information on this page is general guidance about motor insurance in the UAE and is not a policy document or a guarantee of cover. Cover, benefits, exclusions, excess amounts and pricing differ between insurers and depend on your vehicle, driver profile and the policy wording issued to you.
