Non-GCC & Imported

Can I get comprehensive insurance for a Non-GCC vehicle?

Often yes, but not from every insurer. Comprehensive cover on a Non-GCC vehicle is offered selectively, and where it is offered the excess and repair arrangement may differ from a GCC-specification equivalent.

In more detail

Clear documentation improves the outcome. A complete import file, a clean recorded history, an accurate declared value and photographs of the current condition give the underwriter enough to make a positive decision.

If comprehensive is unavailable at acceptable terms, third party liability keeps the vehicle legal and registrable while you review the position at the next renewal.

Conditions and exceptions

  • Agency repair is rarely offered on imported specifications.
  • A single decline is not a market-wide answer; other insurers assess the same vehicle differently.

Important: The information on this page is general guidance about motor insurance in the UAE and is not a policy document or a guarantee of cover. Cover, benefits, exclusions, excess amounts and pricing differ between insurers and depend on your vehicle, driver profile and the policy wording issued to you. Always read the policy schedule and terms issued by the insurer before purchasing.
